The situation
The geographical situation places Montchanin within the framework of the development of the territory, like a pole of communication relatively important by the line TGV and the SNCF, by the public way of the channel of the Center and the road R.C.E.A. (Europe Center Atlantic Road) including the A6, A39 and A40 motorways.

Located in the heart of the Saone and the Loire, surrounded by low mountains that form the granitic mountains of Charoïsis and Autunois, close to the wine route of Burgundy, Montchanin is currently in capacity to receive new activities, to meet the demand of the population, to offer quality services in the sectors of social, cultural, sports and commercial animation.
The Commune of Montchanin is part of the district of Chalon sur Saone and is located at an altitude of 322m, its super cie is 7.82 km2 and today has more than 5400 inhabitants.
